What Day Does Jetstar Usually Run Its Fare Sales in 2026?
What day does Jetstar usually run its fare sales in 2026? Jetstar's flash sales have traditionally launched on a Friday as the Friday Fare Frenzy, and recent ones run across the weekend until 11.59pm AEST Monday. Here is how the timing works, how Club Jetstar early access and Jetmail fit in, how to compare a Jetstar sale fare on Trip.com and Skyscanner, and why going through ShopBack before you book lowers the effective price.
Short answer. In Australia in 2026, Jetstar's short flash sales usually launch on a Friday. Jetstar named them the Friday Fare Frenzy, and its own page said in 2024 that they ran from 12:00pm to 8:00pm AEST. Recent ones run longer: Jetstar's June 2025 Friday Fare Frenzy and its September 2026 Weekend Fare Frenzy both ended at 11.59pm AEST on the Monday, unless sold out. They are not weekly, so sign up for Jetmail and watch the deals page.
ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you money back when you book or shop online at thousands of stores, including Trip.com and Skyscanner. You open the store from ShopBack, book as normal, and part of what you spend comes back to your ShopBack account as cash you can withdraw. Jetstar itself is not a store on ShopBack Australia at the time of writing. New members can join free at shopback.com.au/signup.
How we checked. We read Jetstar's own Friday Fare Frenzy, Weekend Fare Frenzy, deals, Club Jetstar, Price Beat Guarantee and newsroom pages, including earlier versions from 2024 and 2025, plus the Terms on the ShopBack Trip.com and Skyscanner pages, in October 2026. We do not list today's fares, because sale prices change by the hour.
What day does Jetstar usually run its fare sales?
Jetstar's flash sales usually start on a Friday, and recent ones stay open across the weekend until 11.59pm AEST Monday. Here is what Jetstar's own sale pages showed at different times:
| When | What Jetstar's page said | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| July 2024 | "Our Friday Fare Frenzy sales start at 12:00pm and go until 8:00pm AEST." | Friday, about 8 hours |
| June 2025 | Friday Fare Frenzy, "Sale ends 11.59pm AEST Monday 9 June 2025, unless sold out" | Friday to Monday |
| September 2026 | Page renamed Weekend Fare Frenzy, "Sale ends 11.59pm AEST Monday 7 September 2026, unless sold out" | Weekend to Monday |
Two things follow from that:
- Friday is the day to watch. The sale name and the history both point to a Friday start, and in 2024 the sale opened at noon AEST.
- You may have until Monday night. Recent sales stayed open until 11.59pm AEST Monday, but popular routes and dates can sell out sooner, so the earlier you look, the more choice you usually get.
The bigger seasonal sales are different. Jetstar has had deal pages for sales such as a Boxing Day sale, an Easter sale and a 48 hour Aussie sale, and those follow their own dates rather than a weekly pattern.
Other ways to book flights from Australia include airline sites such as Qantas and Virgin Australia, and booking and comparison sites such as Trip.com and Skyscanner.
Jetstar sale in Australia 2026: what the fares include
A Jetstar sale fare is a one-way, web-only fare without checked bags, so the headline price is the starting point, not the final cost. According to Jetstar's sale pages:
- One-way and web only: sale fares are priced one-way and booked online.
- Checked bags not included: add a checked bag if you need one, and compare the total.
- Carry-on changes in 2027: for travel before 2 February 2027, fares include 7kg carry-on bags. For travel on or after 2 February 2027, fares include one underseat carry-on bag, and Priority Carry-on can be bought, subject to availability.
- Payment method: Jetstar's prices are based on paying by PayID, Jetstar voucher, Jetstar gift card or Qantas Points; a Payment Fee applies to other payment methods.
- Limited seats: fares are not available on all flights or days, and availability may be limited.
What this means for you: if your trip is after 2 February 2027 and you travel with a cabin bag bigger than an underseat bag, price the bag in before you decide a sale fare is a bargain.
Jetstar sale best deals in Australia 2026: how to catch them
The best Jetstar sale deals usually go to people who hear about the sale first and know their dates before it opens. A routine that works:
- Sign up for Jetmail. Jetstar's sale page invites you to sign up to get the latest Jetstar sales, deals and news to your inbox.
- Decide whether Club Jetstar suits you. See the next section.
- Pick your dates and route before Friday. Sale fares are on selected travel dates, so flexible travellers do best.
- Check on Friday, then again before Monday night. Recent sales stayed open until 11.59pm AEST Monday, unless sold out.
- Compare the total, not the headline fare. Add bags and seats, and check payment fees.
- Compare the same flight on Trip.com and Skyscanner, then go through ShopBack before you book there.
Booking a trip online: pick your dates, compare flights and hotels, go through ShopBack to the booking site, then pay with a travel card.
Club Jetstar: early access to Jetstar's biggest sales
Club Jetstar is Jetstar's paid membership, and Jetstar says members see its biggest sales first. According to Jetstar's Club Jetstar page at the time of writing, members get:
- Early access to Jetstar's biggest sales
- Exclusive member sales and discounted fares on selected flights
- 20% off bags and seats, applied at booking
- Discounts for up to 4 others when you book together
- Savings on car hire and travel insurance
The member price shows up in the sales too. During the June 2025 Friday Fare Frenzy, Jetstar listed Newcastle to Gold Coast at from $49 for Club Jetstar members and from $54 for everyone else, on selected dates. That was a June 2025 price, shown here only to explain how member pricing works.
Is it worth it? The membership has an annual fee, shown on Jetstar's Club Jetstar page. It tends to pay off for people who fly Jetstar several times a year, travel with family, or usually add bags and seats. For one trip a year, a normal sale fare is usually enough.
The Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee
Jetstar says that if you find a cheaper eligible comparable fare on another airline's own website, it will beat it by 10%. According to Jetstar's Price Beat Guarantee page, the other fare must:
- Be sold by another airline on that airline's own website, available to the public
- Be a direct, one-way flight between the same airports
- Depart within 90 minutes of the Jetstar flight on domestic and trans-Tasman routes (6 hours on most other international routes)
- Depart at least 7 days from when you apply
- Not be a membership or frequent flyer fare, or have a promo code applied
You apply through Jetstar's online form, and Jetstar checks the comparison before you pay. Read the full terms on Jetstar's site before you rely on it.
Trip.com vs Skyscanner for a Jetstar sale fare in 2026
For a Jetstar sale fare, Trip.com and Skyscanner do different jobs: Skyscanner compares fares across many airlines and booking sites, while Trip.com sells the ticket itself. Neither is always cheaper, so compare the same flight, date and bags.
| Skyscanner | Trip.com | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Compares fares, then sends you to an airline or booking site to pay | Sells the flight in your Trip.com account |
| Good for | Seeing which sites carry a Jetstar fare and at what total | Booking the flight, and a hotel as a separate order, in one account |
| On ShopBack Australia | Yes, flights, plus hotels booked via Agoda, Trip.com or Expedia | Yes, adult flights and many other categories |
| Check on the ShopBack page | Which bookings count | Exclusions such as codes, bundles and child fares |
A simple order of play:
- Find the Jetstar sale fare on Jetstar's site and note the total with bags.
- Search the same flight on Skyscanner to see which sites carry it.
- Check the same flight on Trip.com.
- If Trip.com or a site reached through Skyscanner is close on price, go through ShopBack and book there.
Jetstar Holidays, Trip.com and Skyscanner: where ShopBack fits
Jetstar and Jetstar Holidays are not stores on ShopBack Australia at the time of writing, so ShopBack fits when you book the same flight through Trip.com or Skyscanner. If you book direct with Jetstar, compare the price only; there is no ShopBack rebate on that booking.
For a package trip, compare a Jetstar Holidays package with booking the flight and the hotel separately. On the ShopBack Trip.com page, flight and hotel bundles are not eligible, so on Trip.com it usually makes sense to book them as two separate orders.
How ShopBack lowers the price of your flight
Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store. Open Trip.com or Skyscanner from ShopBack Australia, book in the same session, and part of what you pay comes back as cash once the booking is confirmed.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. Plan big-sale purchases through ShopBack so the sale discount and the Cashback both count, where the store's terms allow it.
An illustrative example: on a $300 adult return fare on Trip.com with an illustrative 3% back, $9 comes back, so the effective price is $291. That rate is only for the maths. Check the live rate on the ShopBack Trip.com page. For flights, the ShopBack Skyscanner page shows a fixed amount rather than a percentage.
Things to check on each ShopBack page before you book:
- Trip.com codes: Promo, coupon, or discount codes make your entire Trip.com order ineligible for Cashback.
- Trip.com exclusions: flight and hotel bundles, child and infant tickets, and add-ons such as baggage and meals are listed as not eligible.
- Skyscanner hotels: only hotel bookings made via Agoda, Trip.com or Expedia count.
- Same session: start from ShopBack each time and finish the booking without leaving the browser.
Sale fares, credit cards and ShopBack together
A Jetstar sale fare, a travel card perk and a ShopBack rebate can sometimes all apply to one trip, but each has its own rules, so check them one by one.
- Sale fare: set by Jetstar. If you book the same fare on Trip.com, the ShopBack Trip.com page lists store promotions and special deals as not eligible unless stated, so read the page before you book.
- Travel card: your card's points or travel credits follow your card issuer's terms. Jetstar's prices assume payment methods without a Payment Fee, so check whether your card adds one on Jetstar's site.
- ShopBack: applies only to bookings started from ShopBack at an eligible store, and only to eligible items.

Frequently asked questions
What day does Jetstar usually run its fare sales?
Jetstar's short flash sales usually start on a Friday. Jetstar named them the Friday Fare Frenzy, and its page said in 2024 that they ran from 12:00pm to 8:00pm AEST. More recent ones run longer: Jetstar's June 2025 Friday Fare Frenzy and its September 2026 Weekend Fare Frenzy both ended at 11.59pm AEST on the Monday, unless sold out. They do not run every week, so sign up for Jetmail and check Jetstar's deals page.
What time does the Jetstar Friday Fare Frenzy start?
Jetstar's Friday Fare Frenzy page said in 2024 that the sales start at 12:00pm AEST on the Friday. End times have varied since then, with recent sales running until 11.59pm AEST on the following Monday. Check the sale banner on Jetstar's site for the exact end time of each one.
Is the Jetstar Friday Fare Frenzy every week?
No. Jetstar's own page has told shoppers to keep an eye out for the next one rather than giving a fixed schedule. The quickest ways to hear about the next sale are Jetstar's Jetmail newsletter and a Club Jetstar membership, which Jetstar says gives early access to its biggest sales.
Does Club Jetstar get sale fares earlier?
Yes, according to Jetstar. Club Jetstar is a paid membership, and Jetstar says members get early access to its biggest sales, member-only sales, discounted fares on selected flights and 20% off bags and seats. During the June 2025 Friday Fare Frenzy, Jetstar listed lower Club Jetstar fares next to the standard sale fare on each route. Work out whether you fly often enough to cover the fee.
Is a Jetstar sale fare cheaper on Trip.com or Skyscanner?
It depends on the route and the day, so compare the same flight, date and bags on Jetstar's site, Trip.com and Skyscanner. Skyscanner compares fares across airlines and booking sites, while Trip.com sells the ticket itself. Look at the total with bags and payment fees, then go through ShopBack before you book on Trip.com or Skyscanner so the effective price drops.
Is Jetstar on ShopBack Australia?
Not at the time of writing, and Jetstar Holidays is not either. You can still compare a Jetstar fare on Trip.com and Skyscanner, which are stores on ShopBack Australia. If the total is close, booking through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same booking.
What is included in a Jetstar sale fare?
Jetstar sale fares are one-way and exclude checked bags. Jetstar says that for travel before 2 February 2027 fares include a 7kg carry-on bag, and for travel on or after 2 February 2027 they include one underseat carry-on bag, with Priority Carry-on available to buy. Jetstar's advertised prices are based on paying by PayID, Jetstar voucher, Jetstar gift card or Qantas Points, and a Payment Fee applies to other payment methods.
What is the Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee?
Jetstar says that if you find an eligible comparable fare on another airline's own website that is cheaper than on jetstar.com, it will beat it by 10%. The flight must be direct, one-way, between the same airports, close to the same departure time and at least 7 days away, and membership fares or fares with a promo code do not count.
How does ShopBack lower the price of a flight?
Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store. Open Trip.com or Skyscanner from ShopBack Australia, book in the same session, and part of what you pay comes back as cash you can withdraw once the booking is confirmed. Check the live rate and exclusions on each store's ShopBack page.
Can I use a promo code on Trip.com and still get money back through ShopBack?
Usually not. The ShopBack Trip.com page says: Promo, coupon, or discount codes make your entire Trip.com order ineligible for Cashback. It also lists flight and hotel bundles, child and infant tickets and add-ons such as baggage as not eligible, so book the adult fare on its own and skip outside codes.
