How Do I Save on Furniture Sales Online in Australia in 2026?

ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you money back when you shop at thousands of stores, including Amazon Australia, Temu and Coles. You start from ShopBack, buy as usual on the store's own site, and part of what you pay comes back to your ShopBack account as cash. New members can join free at shopback.com.au/signup.
How we put this together. We read the delivery and membership pages of Amazon Australia, the furniture specialists' own sites and the store pages on ShopBack Australia, and used only figures those pages publish. Prices, delivery rules and store terms change, so treat every number here as correct at the time of writing.
How to save on online furniture shopping in Australia: the short version
The cheapest way to buy furniture online in Australia is to combine three things: the right sale window, the lowest delivered total, and going through ShopBack before you pay. Each one cuts a different part of the price.
- Time it. Furniture discounts are usually deepest around Black Friday and Cyber Monday (Friday 27 and Monday 30 November 2026), Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December 2026) and EOFY sales in June.
- Price the whole order. Enter your postcode and compare the total at checkout, including delivery and any assembly fee.
- Use the store's own programme. Amazon Prime, newsletter offers and price-drop alerts all exist for a reason, but read how they interact with ShopBack first (see the promo code section below).
- Check ShopBack before you check out. Open the store's ShopBack page, check the rate shown, tap through, and buy in that same session.
That last step is the easiest to skip, and it still lowers the price of an order you have already decided to buy.
Furniture sale Australia 2026: when the best deals land
For most Australians, the best furniture sale deals of 2026 are still ahead: Black Friday on Friday 27 November, Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November, and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December. After that, the next big window is EOFY in June 2027, when retailers clear stock before the end of the financial year on 30 June.
| Sale window | 2026 to 2027 timing | Why it matters for furniture |
|---|---|---|
| Black Friday | Friday 27 November 2026 | Many online stores run their deepest storewide discounts of the year |
| Cyber Monday | Monday 30 November 2026 | Online-only extensions of Black Friday prices |
| Boxing Day | Saturday 26 December 2026 | Clearance on floor stock and end-of-year ranges |
| EOFY | June 2027 (financial year ends 30 June) | Stock clearance before the new financial year |
| Click Frenzy | Several online events a year | Short online sale events across many Australian stores |
Big items reward patience. If a sofa, bed frame or dining set can wait six to eight weeks, the Black Friday and Boxing Day window usually offers better prices than a random week in October. If you need it now, the delivered-price and ShopBack steps still apply to any order.

Furniture sale best deals in Australia: count delivery before you compare
The best furniture deal is the lowest delivered total, not the lowest sticker price. Large items are where delivery costs bite hardest, and the rules differ a lot by store.
Amazon Australia. According to Amazon Australia's delivery help page at the time of writing:
- Orders of eligible items with a combined value of AUD $59 or more get free delivery within Australia, excluding select remote areas.
- Eligible items are those dispatched and sold by Amazon AU or fulfilled by Amazon AU with "FREE Delivery" messaging on the product page.
- Bulky goods, special products and items sold and fulfilled by third-party sellers can be ineligible for that free delivery.
So a flat-pack bookcase sold by Amazon AU may ship free, while a large sofa from a marketplace seller may not. Always check the delivery line at checkout with your postcode entered.
Amazon Prime. Amazon Australia lists Prime at $9.99 a month or $79 a year after a 30-day free trial, with free delivery on eligible items and early access to some deals. If you are buying several pieces for a move, a trial month can cover the delivery on eligible orders.
Furniture specialists. Some specialists sell on trial periods rather than headline discounts. Koala, for example, offers a 120-day trial on its products, according to Koala's Australian site, which reduces the risk of a bad buy on a mattress or sofa. A return you never have to make is a saving too.
Amazon vs Temu furniture sale price comparison 2026
Temu often shows low sticker prices on small furniture and home items, while Amazon Australia offers a wider range of brands, local stock and clear free delivery rules on eligible items. Neither is cheapest for everything, so compare the same type of item on both.
| What you are comparing | Amazon Australia | Temu |
|---|---|---|
| Typical strength | Wide brand range, items sold by Amazon AU, Prime delivery on eligible items | Low sticker prices on small furniture, storage and decor |
| Delivery rule to check | $59 free delivery on eligible Amazon AU items; bulky and third-party items can differ | Check the delivery line and timing at checkout |
| Store's own savings | Prime ($9.99 a month or $79 a year), Prime member deals | App and site promotions |
| ShopBack rule to know | Empty your Amazon cart before you tap through from ShopBack | Start from ShopBack; if the Temu app needs installing, go back and tap the link again |
How to compare fairly:
- Pick the exact type of item, such as a three-drawer chest or a bar stool pair.
- Check dimensions and materials, since "similar" items can differ a lot in size and finish.
- Add each to the cart with your postcode and note the total including delivery.
- Check the rate shown on the ShopBack Amazon Australia page and the ShopBack Temu page, then work out your effective price on each.
Amazon category rates change. At the time of writing, the ShopBack Amazon Australia page says category rates change each month and that the rate is based on when an item was added to your cart. That is why you check the page, then empty your cart, then tap through, in that order.
Amazon, Temu and Coles: what each is good for when furnishing a home
Amazon Australia and Temu both sell furniture online; Coles is a supermarket, so it fits the household basics that go with a new room rather than the furniture itself.
- Amazon Australia: flat-pack furniture, office chairs, shelving, mattresses and small tables, often with Prime or $59 free delivery on eligible items.
- Temu: low-priced small furniture, storage, lighting and decor. Read product sizes carefully and compare the final total.
- Coles: cleaning, storage and kitchen basics you can add to a grocery order when you move or set up a room. At the time of writing, the ShopBack Coles page says orders placed in the Coles app do not count, so use the Coles website after tapping through.
Other furniture stores on ShopBack Australia. Australians shopping for furniture online also compare Temple & Webster, Koala, Adairs, Freedom, Amart Furniture and Kogan.
Promo codes and ShopBack: choose at checkout
At the time of writing, the ShopBack Amazon Australia and ShopBack Temu pages both say that using any promo, coupon or discount code makes the whole order ineligible. Other stores, such as Coles, exclude purchases made with codes not featured on ShopBack.
That does not mean codes are bad. It means you choose:
- If a store code saves more than what ShopBack would return on that order, use the code.
- If ShopBack returns more, skip the outside code and buy through ShopBack.
- If the code is listed on the store's ShopBack page, it is the one designed to work with ShopBack.
Our guide to finding promo codes that work explains how to tell which codes are worth it.
How ShopBack lowers what you pay for furniture
Going through ShopBack takes a few seconds and adds cashback to the same order. You still buy the same sofa, at the same sale price, from the same store. The difference is that part of what you pay comes back to your ShopBack Australia account.
ShopBack Australia gives you cashback, and cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles.
How to do it:
- Open the ShopBack app or website and sign in.
- Go to the store's page, such as the ShopBack Amazon Australia page, and check the rate and Terms shown.
- For Amazon, make sure your Amazon cart is empty, as the ShopBack page asks.
- Tap through to the store and buy in that same session, without clicking ads, other links or browser extensions on the way.
- Once the store confirms the order, the cash shows in your ShopBack account and you can withdraw it.
Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash ShopBack returns. Illustrative example: an $800 sofa bought in a Black Friday sale. At an illustrative 5% rate, $40 comes back to your ShopBack account, so the effective price is $760. These are made-up numbers to show the maths; real rates change often, delivery and fees usually do not count, and the live rate is on the store's ShopBack page.

Frequently asked questions
How do I save on online shopping for furniture in Australia?
Buy in a major sale window such as EOFY in June, Black Friday (27 November 2026) or Boxing Day, compare the delivered price rather than the sticker price, and go through ShopBack Australia before you check out at stores like Amazon, Temu or Temple & Webster so part of what you pay comes back as cash.
When is the best furniture sale in Australia in 2026?
The biggest online furniture sales in Australia usually land around Black Friday and Cyber Monday (27 and 30 November 2026), Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December 2026) and EOFY in June. Click Frenzy also runs online sale events. Mid-season sales happen too, but these windows are usually when the deepest discounts appear across the most stores at once.
Is Amazon or Temu cheaper for furniture in Australia?
It depends on the piece. Temu often lists low sticker prices on small furniture and home items, while Amazon Australia covers a wider range of brands and offers free delivery on eligible items fulfilled by Amazon AU over $59, or with Prime. Compare the delivered total for the same type of item, then go through ShopBack before you buy on either.
Does Amazon Australia deliver furniture for free?
Sometimes. According to Amazon Australia at the time of writing, eligible items fulfilled by Amazon AU get free delivery on orders of $59 or more, but bulky goods and items sold and fulfilled by third-party sellers can be ineligible. Prime members get free delivery on eligible items; Prime costs $9.99 a month or $79 a year after a 30-day free trial.
Can I buy furniture at Coles online?
Coles is a supermarket, so its online range centres on groceries and household basics rather than large furniture. It is useful for the cleaning, storage and kitchen basics that go with setting up a room. Going through the ShopBack Coles page before you check out on the Coles website applies to those orders.
Can I use a promo code and ShopBack on the same furniture order?
Not always. At the time of writing, the ShopBack Amazon Australia and Temu pages say that using a promo, coupon or discount code makes the whole order ineligible, and other stores exclude codes not featured on ShopBack. Check the Terms on the store's ShopBack page, then pick whichever saves you more on that order.
How does ShopBack lower the price of furniture?
Going through ShopBack takes a few seconds and adds cashback to the same order. Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash ShopBack returns: on an $800 sofa at an illustrative 5%, $40 comes back, so the effective price is $760. Check the live rate on the store's ShopBack page.
Is ShopBack cashback paid as points?
No. Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles, and once it is confirmed you can withdraw it to an Australian bank account.
Should I count delivery when comparing furniture prices?
Yes. Delivery on large furniture can change which store is cheapest, so compare the total at checkout with your postcode entered. Amazon Australia, for example, says bulky goods can fall outside its $59 free delivery offer, so a lower sticker price elsewhere may still cost more once delivery is added.
Which online furniture stores can I shop through ShopBack Australia?
At the time of writing, ShopBack Australia has store pages for Amazon Australia, Temu, Temple & Webster, Koala, Adairs, Freedom, Amart Furniture and Kogan, among others. Open the store's ShopBack page, check the rate and Terms, and tap through to the store before you add anything to your cart.
