Is Woolworths Delivery Unlimited Worth It in 2026?
Woolworths Delivery Unlimited is usually worth it if you get Woolworths online delivery most weeks and your orders clear its minimum spend. Use a simple break-even test, compare it with Everyday Extra, and see how Woolworths, Coles and ALDI compared in CHOICE's June 2026 price survey.
Is Woolworths Delivery Unlimited Worth It in 2026?
Published: 8 October 2026 · Last updated: 8 October 2026 · Author: Garry Shi, Cashback Expert, ShopBack Australia
New to ShopBack? ShopBack Australia is a free shopping app and website. Before you check out at an online store such as Woolworths, go through ShopBack first: tap through to the store, shop as normal, and part of what you spent comes back to you as cash. Join ShopBack Australia for free.
The numbers first
Here are the figures that matter for a Woolworths online shopper, each taken from the source named, at the time of writing:
- ALDI $68.89, Woolworths $74.47, Coles $76.79, IGA $92.69. That is the cost of the same 17-item grocery basket without specials in CHOICE's quarterly survey, priced at 104 supermarkets in 27 locations across Australia in June 2026.
- Woolworths $2.32 cheaper than Coles on that full basket without specials, and $2.79 cheaper with specials, according to CHOICE.
- Everyday Extra: 10% off one Woolworths shop a month, on a transaction of up to $500, so up to $50 a month, plus 2x Everyday Rewards points at Woolworths and BIG W, according to Everyday Rewards. Switching to the annual plan saves $14 a year.
- Everyday Rewards: at least 1 point per $1, and 2,000 points convert to $10 off a future shop or 1,000 Qantas Points, according to Everyday Rewards.
- Delivery Unlimited free trial: 30 days for eligible customers, with the first billing date at the end of the trial, according to the Delivery Unlimited terms shown on ShopBack's Woolworths page.
Woolworths changes the Delivery Unlimited price, minimum order and eligible delivery windows from time to time, so check the current plan on Woolworths' Delivery Unlimited page before you sign up.
Is Woolworths Delivery Unlimited worth it? The break-even test
Delivery Unlimited is worth it when it costs less than the delivery fees it replaces. You can test that with your own order history in two minutes:
- Open your Woolworths order history and add up the delivery fees you paid over the last two months.
- Divide by two to get your average monthly delivery spend.
- Check the current monthly price on Woolworths' Delivery Unlimited page, along with the minimum order value and which delivery windows are included.
- Check your orders clear the minimum. If many of your orders are small top-up shops below the minimum, they will still attract a fee.
- Compare. If your average monthly delivery fees are higher than the subscription, Delivery Unlimited usually saves you money.
An illustrative example. These are example numbers, not Woolworths' prices. Say you place one delivery order a week and pay an average of $8 in delivery fees each time. That is about $34 a month across 4.3 weeks. If the subscription in this example cost $15 a month, you would save around $19 a month. If you only order delivery twice a month, the same household pays about $16 in fees, and the subscription is close to break-even.
Who it usually suits:
- Households that order Woolworths delivery weekly or more
- People without a car or easy access to a store
- Busy families doing one large weekly shop online
Who can usually skip it:
- Shoppers who order online once a month or less
- People happy to use Direct to Boot or pick up at participating stores instead of home delivery
- Households that do most of their shopping at ALDI or in store
If you are unsure, the 30-day free trial for eligible customers is the low-risk way to test it. Delivery Unlimited renews automatically, so set a reminder to cancel before your first billing date if it does not suit you.
Delivery Unlimited vs Everyday Extra
Woolworths shoppers often mix up these two subscriptions. They do different jobs.
| Delivery Unlimited | Everyday Extra | |
|---|---|---|
| What it saves | Delivery fees on eligible Woolworths online orders | 10% off one Woolworths shop each calendar month, up to $50 |
| Where it works | Woolworths online delivery | Woolworths in store or online |
| Points | Check Woolworths' current plan | 2x Everyday Rewards points at Woolworths and BIG W |
| Free trial | 30 days for eligible customers | 30-day free trial offered by Everyday Rewards |
| Can it cut delivery fees? | Yes | No, the discount excludes delivery charges, including Delivery Unlimited items |
Everyday Extra figures are from Everyday Rewards at the time of writing.
The rule of thumb: if delivery fees are your biggest online cost, look at Delivery Unlimited. If you spend close to $500 in one Woolworths shop each month, Everyday Extra's 10% discount can be worth up to $50 a month on that shop. Some heavy online shoppers run both. Work out each one with your own numbers before you subscribe to either.
Coles vs ALDI vs Woolworths: grocery prices in 2026
ALDI was the cheapest of the three in CHOICE's June 2026 survey, with Woolworths second and Coles third. CHOICE priced a 17-item basket of mostly home-brand and fresh items at 104 supermarkets in 27 locations.
| Supermarket | 17-item basket, no specials | 8-item fresh and staples basket, no specials |
|---|---|---|
| ALDI | $68.89 | $40.10 |
| Woolworths | $74.47 | $40.95 |
| Coles | $76.79 | $42.54 |
| IGA | $92.69 | $50.42 |
Source: CHOICE quarterly supermarket price survey, June 2026 fieldwork.
The eight-item basket holds apples, bananas, strawberries, potatoes, avocado, milk, basmati rice and beef mince. CHOICE noted that every supermarket's base basket rose in price since March, with Woolworths recording the smallest increase (+$0.87) and IGA the largest (+$5.00).
What the numbers mean for you: ALDI tends to be cheapest on its own-brand range, while Woolworths and Coles stay close to each other, so the store you can get to easily, and the specials you time your shop around, often matter more than which of the big two you choose. Other places Australians buy groceries include IGA, Harris Farm Markets, Costco and Amazon Australia's pantry range.
Coles vs Woolworths fruit and veg prices
Neither is always cheaper for fruit. In CHOICE's June 2026 survey:
- Apples were on average $2.65 per kg more expensive at Coles than at Woolworths, the main reason Woolworths was $1.59 cheaper than Coles on the eight-item base basket.
- Potatoes were $1.20 cheaper at Coles than at Woolworths.
- Most other items at the two stores were identical or very similar in price, CHOICE said.
So for cheap fruit, compare the items you actually buy. Fresh prices move with the season and with each store's weekly specials, and CHOICE found fruit and vegetables drive most of the price differences between states. Buying what is in season and checking each catalogue on the day the specials change is usually the most reliable way to pay less for fruit and veg at either store.
How do ALDI, Coles and Woolworths compare in Sydney?
CHOICE reports results by state rather than by city. For New South Wales in its June 2026 survey, the 17-item basket with specials cost:
| NSW, with specials | Basket price |
|---|---|
| ALDI | $68.76 |
| Woolworths | $74.28 |
| Coles | $75.96 |
| IGA | $88.98 |
That puts the ALDI to Woolworths gap in NSW at $5.52 for the same basket, and Woolworths $1.68 below Coles. CHOICE found ALDI's prices varied very little between states, while IGA showed the widest spread. Individual Sydney stores can still differ, especially on fresh food.
Woolworths vs ALDI
Woolworths vs ALDI comes down to price against range and convenience.
- Price. ALDI's 17-item basket was $5.58 cheaper than Woolworths' without specials in CHOICE's June 2026 survey.
- Range. Woolworths carries a much wider range of name brands, plus its own brands. ALDI focuses on its own-brand range with a smaller number of products.
- Specials. ALDI says its Special Buys arrive in stores every Wednesday and Saturday. Woolworths specials usually change every Wednesday, with the catalogue running Wednesday to the following Tuesday.
- Rewards. Woolworths shoppers collect at least 1 Everyday Rewards point per $1, according to Everyday Rewards.
Many households split the shop: staples at ALDI, then branded items and anything ALDI does not stock at Woolworths.
ALDI vs Woolworths online shopping
At the time of writing, ALDI Australia's website points shoppers to DoorDash for delivery rather than running its own full online supermarket. Woolworths runs its own online shop with home delivery, Direct to Boot and pick up, which is why Delivery Unlimited only makes sense if most of your shopping happens through Woolworths online.
ALDI vs Coles vs Woolworths specials
Each supermarket runs its specials on a different rhythm:
| Supermarket | When specials change | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Woolworths | Usually every Wednesday | Weekly catalogue runs Wednesday to the following Tuesday; see what day Woolworths specials change |
| Coles | Weekly catalogue | Half price specials rotate; see how Coles half price specials work |
| ALDI | Special Buys every Wednesday and Saturday | Grocery prices stay low most of the time, with fewer weekly markdowns |
CHOICE's June 2026 survey found specials made little difference to the basket totals at ALDI and Coles that quarter, while Woolworths' basket fell from $74.47 to $74.00 with specials. Specials matter more on the weeks your regular items are discounted, which is why timing an online shop just after the Wednesday change-over can help.
How to cut the cost of a Woolworths online shop
This routine works for any Woolworths online order, with or without Delivery Unlimited:
- Plan around the Wednesday catalogue. Build your list after specials change.
- Check the minimum order if you have Delivery Unlimited, so you do not pay a fee on a small order.
- Use Direct to Boot or pick up for small top-up shops if a participating store is nearby.
- Scan your Everyday Rewards card or link it to your online account, and use 2,000 points for $10 off when you reach them.
- Choose home brand and in-season fresh food, which CHOICE's baskets show is where prices stay lowest.
- Go through ShopBack before you check out. Open the Woolworths page on ShopBack, tap through and finish the order in the same session.
How ShopBack lowers what you pay at Woolworths online
ShopBack Australia works with Woolworths Online. Shoppers who book with Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia already treat ShopBack as an essential step before they pay, and a weekly grocery order works the same way: you pay less on the same order. Before you check out, go through ShopBack to get a post-purchase discount on the order.
How it works:
- Open the Woolworths page on ShopBack Australia.
- Tap through to Woolworths and do your online shop as normal.
- ShopBack tracks the order. Once Woolworths confirms it, the money becomes available to withdraw to your bank account.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. That is the difference from Everyday Rewards points, which you build up and redeem later at Woolworths.
A worked example. Your weekly Woolworths online order comes to $200. At an illustrative 1% rate, $2 comes back after the order is confirmed, so your effective price is $198. Across 50 weekly shops of the same size, that is about $100 over a year. The rate is only an example; check the live rate on the ShopBack Woolworths page, because rates can differ for new and existing Woolworths customers and change over time.
Delivery Unlimited sign-ups. ShopBack's Woolworths page has listed a separate reward for new and returning Delivery Unlimited subscribers who do not have an active subscription. If one is shown when you sign up, read its terms: under the current terms you lose eligibility if you cancel during the free trial or before the first successful billing cycle.
Keep the order eligible. Under the current ShopBack terms for Woolworths, Everyday Market purchases are not eligible, and using vouchers or promo codes not featured on ShopBack can make an order ineligible. Start from ShopBack, finish in one session, and use only codes shown on the ShopBack Woolworths page. The cashback mistakes Australians make covers the rest.
Key takeaways
- Delivery Unlimited is usually worth it if your monthly Woolworths delivery fees are higher than its monthly price and most orders clear the minimum.
- Test it free: eligible customers get a 30-day trial, and it renews automatically.
- Everyday Extra is different: 10% off one Woolworths shop a month, up to $50, and it does not cover delivery charges.
- ALDI was cheapest in CHOICE's June 2026 survey ($68.89), then Woolworths ($74.47) and Coles ($76.79).
- Fruit: apples were $2.65 per kg dearer at Coles, potatoes $1.20 cheaper, and most items were very similar.
- NSW: ALDI $68.76, Woolworths $74.28, Coles $75.96 with specials.
- Before you check out at Woolworths online, go through ShopBack Australia so the effective price of every shop comes down.
