The Wine Collective on ShopBack
What is The Wine Collective?
The Wine Collective is an independent, Australian-owned online wine retailer that traces its history to The Wine Society, founded in 1946, and now trades as Wine Collective Holdings Pty Ltd. It sells thousands of Australian and imported wines plus spirits, mixed cases, gift boxes and glassware through thewinecollective.com.au, with a weekly tasting panel, complimentary Personal Wine Advisors, the free My Collective Rewards programme and quarterly Panel Picks subscriptions. It ships to Australian addresses only. Click through from the ShopBack The Wine Collective merchant page before you order to earn cashback at the current published rate.
How does My Collective Rewards work?
My Collective Rewards is free to join and has three tiers. Bronze members earn 10 points per $1 spent, Silver 12 points and Gold 15 points, with Gold also receiving free standard delivery on orders over $199, weekly Gold-only offers and first access to sales. Points are redeemed at checkout in amounts between $5 and $200, with bonus points for promotions, referrals and wine reviews. Points reduce what you pay, and ShopBack cashback is calculated on the amount charged after points, so use both together.
The Wine Collective sale calendar 2026?
As of early October 2026 the site runs a standing Mix & Match offer of an extra 5% off 12 bottles, a 1,000 bonus loyalty points promotion on selected wines, a Clearance section and an Under $25 range. The windows to watch are Melbourne Cup on 3 November 2026, Black Friday on 27 November, Cyber Monday on 30 November and the Christmas run-up, when delivery times stretch. Gold members get first access to sales. Promotions apply in the cart alongside a ShopBack click-through, and cashback is calculated on the discounted total at the current published rate on the ShopBack The Wine Collective page.
How do The Wine Collective delivery zones and fees work?
Ready-for-delivery wines leave the Sydney warehouse within 1 to 3 business days and arrive in 2 to 10 business days depending on zone. Standard shipping is free over $299 in eligible zones, and Gold members get it free over $199. Below that, fees run from $15.95 in the eastern capitals to $33.95 in WA country, which has no free tier, per the zone table above. The Northern Territory, external territories and dry zones are not served. Delivery fees are excluded from ShopBack cashback.
The Wine Collective vs subscription-first wine clubs?
The Wine Collective is a retailer first: you buy single bottles, dozens, mixed cases, spirits and gifts whenever you like, earn tiered points on every order and can add a quarterly Panel Picks subscription. Subscription-first clubs such as Naked Wines and Virgin Wines build around a recurring case and their own membership mechanics, and each has its own ShopBack merchant page and terms. If you want to choose every bottle, The Wine Collective's model fits; if you want wine to simply arrive, compare its packs against the clubs. Either way, click through from that merchant's ShopBack page so cashback tracks.
Panel Picks subscription vs one-off orders at The Wine Collective?
The quarterly Panel Picks subscriptions, which the retailer calls Australia's oldest wine club, deliver 12 panel-selected Australian reds, whites or a mixed dozen for $239 per quarter, or the Platinum 6 premium reds for $250, with free shipping, 5,000 loyalty points per case and 10,000 bonus points on the fourth consecutive case, no lock-in, and pause, skip or cancel anytime. One-off orders give you full choice and zone-based delivery fees. ShopBack cashback tracks on the payment made in the session you clicked through, so the first subscription order earns cashback while later automatic renewals do not.
What is the difference between Ready for Delivery and Marketplace wines?
Ready for Delivery wines are stocked in the Sydney warehouse and dispatch in 1 to 3 business days. Marketplace wines are sourced from partner wineries and importers on demand, so the order ships once everything has reached Sydney, adding 3 to 10 business days, and the vintage may differ from the one listed. Marketplace items cannot be returned or changed, and International Marketplace orders take around 5 months. Both types earn ShopBack cashback at the same published rate when you click through from the ShopBack The Wine Collective page.
Do I need to be home or show ID for a wine delivery in Australia?
You do not need to be home. Deliveries go through Australia Post or, for winery-direct orders, a courier; if nobody is there the parcel is held at the nearest post office or depot, and whoever collects it must be 18 or over with ID matching the consignee name. Authority to Leave is available on credit card orders only, not PayPal. PO Boxes are fine, parcel lockers may refuse alcohol, and a returned parcel incurs a re-delivery fee. Inspect on arrival, since breakage risk passes to you on acceptance. None of this changes your ShopBack cashback, which is set at purchase.
How do I earn ShopBack cashback on The Wine Collective?
Empty your Wine Collective cart, then click through fresh from the ShopBack The Wine Collective merchant page to thewinecollective.com.au. Log in to My Collective Rewards, build the order and complete checkout in the same browser session without opening other coupon or cashback tabs. Points and site promotions are fine; avoid third-party codes, which can break tracking. The ShopBack page lists separate rates for new and existing customers, and cashback is calculated on the merchandise total after discounts and points, excluding delivery, at the current published rate. If pending cashback has not appeared within a few days, lodge a missing cashback claim with your order number.
Do returns or refunds at The Wine Collective affect my ShopBack cashback?
Yes. Any refunded portion of a Wine Collective order is voided from your ShopBack cashback, because the retailer only pays commission on completed sales. Under the returns policy, Marketplace items cannot be returned, change-of-mind requests must be made within 14 days and may carry a fee, and a straight case you dislike after one bottle can be returned within 90 days for loyalty points (expiring after 12 months) or a card refund with a fee. A points credit still reverses the sale for commission purposes, so cashback on those bottles drops off. Breakage replacements are not refunds and leave cashback intact.
