Where Should I Book Berry Accommodation in NSW to Pay Less in 2026?

Short answer. For Berry on the NSW South Coast in Australia in 2026, book on whichever of Wotif, Booking.com or Luxury Escapes shows the lowest final total for the same room and terms, after signing in on each, then book through ShopBack before you pay, where ShopBack Cashback works like a discount, only easier than a promo code. Shoalhaven Tourism says Berry is packed with guest houses, B&Bs, hotels and motels, and that its market days draw many visitors. Midweek nights outside NSW school holidays usually cost less. Then go through ShopBack before you pay.

ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you part of what you spend back as cash when you start your booking from it. You open the booking site from ShopBack, book as normal, and the cash lands in your ShopBack account once the stay is confirmed. New members can join free at shopback.com.au/signup.

Sources. Shoalhaven Tourism's Berry page, the NSW Department of Education's 2026 and future term dates, Luxury Escapes' own site, and each booking site's ShopBack page, at the time of writing in October 2026. We do not quote nightly prices, because Berry rates change daily and jump on busy weekends.

Where should I book Berry accommodation to pay less?

There is no single cheapest site for Berry, so the cheapest booking comes from comparing three sites on the same room, then going through ShopBack to the winner. Here is how each site's own offer works:

• Wotif. Part of Expedia Group, selling hotels, flights and packages. Member prices usually only show once you sign in.
• Booking.com. Runs Genius, a free loyalty programme with three levels that unlock discounts on select stays. Many Berry B&Bs, guest houses and motels list here.
• Luxury Escapes. Sells packaged stays with inclusions. On many offers it shows a member price next to a non-member price, so sign in before you compare.

Then compare like with like. A cheaper rate that is non-refundable, or that leaves out breakfast you would pay for anyway, may not be the cheaper booking.

The order that saves most: pick your dates, compare flights and hotels if you need both, go through ShopBack to the booking site, then pay with a travel card.

Berry accommodation: what kind of stay to choose

Berry is a small village, so the type of stay matters as much as the site. According to Shoalhaven Tourism, Berry is known as the first proper country town south of Sydney, with boutique stores, cafes, galleries and buildings with National Trust classification, and the town is packed with well appointed guest houses, B&Bs, hotel and motel accommodation. For the wider Shoalhaven, it lists these kinds of stay:

Type of stay	What to expect	Who it suits
B&Bs and guest houses	Rooms in or near the village, often with breakfast	Couples on a weekend away
Hotels and motels	Rooms close to the main street	Short trips and one-night stops
Self-contained stays	Cottages and apartments with a kitchen	Families and stays of three nights or more
Retreats, lodges and farmstays	Rural stays in the hills and valleys around Berry	Groups and slower trips
Caravan and camping	Sites and cabins across the Shoalhaven	Road trippers watching the total

If Berry itself is full or pricey on your dates, look at rural stays around Broughton Vale and Bellawongarah, villages Shoalhaven Tourism describes as a short drive from Berry, or elsewhere in the wider Shoalhaven.

Berry accommodation in Australia in 2026: dates that change the price

Weekends, market days and NSW school holidays are what move Berry prices most. Shoalhaven Tourism says the Shoalhaven is about two hours from Sydney and Canberra, so Friday and Saturday nights fill first. It also says Berry's market days, each Thursday and on the first Sunday of the month, attract many visitors.

According to the NSW Department of Education (Eastern division dates):

Holiday period	Dates (NSW public schools)
Summer 2026 to 2027	Friday 18 December 2026 to Wednesday 27 January 2027
Autumn 2027	Monday 12 April to Friday 23 April 2027
Winter 2027	Monday 5 July to Friday 16 July 2027
Spring 2027	Monday 27 September to Friday 8 October 2027
Summer 2027 to 2028	From Tuesday 21 December 2027

The usual value windows are Sunday to Thursday nights in school term, especially from February to early April and from late April to late June.

Berry accommodation best deals in Australia in 2026

The best Berry accommodation deals in 2026 usually come from flexible dates and member prices, rather than a one-off sale. A simple checklist:

1. Sign in on every site so Wotif member prices, Booking.com Genius and Luxury Escapes member prices show.
2. Try a midweek stay. A Sunday to Thursday trip often costs less than a Friday and Saturday.
3. Look one village out. Stays in the hills around Berry or elsewhere in the Shoalhaven can cost less on busy weekends.
4. Check sale periods such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Click Frenzy, when booking sites often run hotel sales.
5. Compare effective prices, not only checkout totals. A store that looks a little dearer can work out cheaper once ShopBack's money back is counted.
6. Go through ShopBack before you pay. Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store.

How ShopBack lowers the price of your Berry stay

ShopBack lowers the effective price of your booking after you pay. Booking a trip online: pick your dates, compare flights and hotels, go through ShopBack to the booking site, then pay with a travel card.

Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store.

How to do it, step by step:

1. Open ShopBack Australia (app or website) and search for the site: Wotif, Booking.com or Luxury Escapes.
2. Check the rate shown on that page.
3. Tap through to the site, search your Berry dates, and book.
4. Your cash shows in your ShopBack account as pending, then confirms after the stay.

Compare effective prices. A site that looks a little dearer can work out cheaper once ShopBack's money back is counted, so use the rate shown on each site's ShopBack page on the day you book.

---

Promo codes, member prices and ShopBack together

• Promo codes. Use a code shown on the site's ShopBack page if one is listed.
• Member prices. Wotif member prices, Genius and Luxury Escapes member prices are the sites' own offers, so sign in before you compare.

For more on the general rules, see post-purchase discounts on Booking.com and Agoda.

Key takeaways

• Compare Wotif, Booking.com and Luxury Escapes on the same room and terms, signed in on each.
• Berry has guest houses, B&Bs, hotels and motels, according to Shoalhaven Tourism; look one village out on busy weekends.
• Midweek nights in school term usually cost less than weekends and NSW school holidays.
• A site that looks dearer can be cheaper once ShopBack's money back is counted.
• Before you pay, go through ShopBack. Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash that comes back.

Frequently asked questions

Where should I book Berry accommodation to pay less?

For Berry on the NSW South Coast, book on whichever of Wotif, Booking.com or Luxury Escapes shows the lowest final total for the same room, dates and cancellation terms, after signing in on each. Midweek nights outside NSW school holidays and market weekends usually cost less. Before you pay, go through ShopBack to the winning site so the effective price drops.

What kind of accommodation is there in Berry?

According to Shoalhaven Tourism, Berry is packed with guest houses, B&Bs, hotel and motel accommodation. Across the wider Shoalhaven it also lists caravan and camping, retreats, lodges and farmstays, and self-contained stays, so you can look just outside the village if Berry itself is full.

How far is Berry from Sydney?

Shoalhaven Tourism says the Shoalhaven region is about two hours from Sydney and Canberra, and describes Berry as the first proper country town south of Sydney. That makes Berry a common one or two night trip, so Friday and Saturday nights are usually the busiest.

When is Berry accommodation most expensive?

Prices usually rise on weekends, in NSW school holidays and around popular events. Shoalhaven Tourism says Berry's market days, each Thursday and on the first Sunday of the month, attract many visitors. The NSW summer school holidays run from Friday 18 December 2026 to Wednesday 27 January 2027 for Eastern division schools.

Wotif vs Booking.com: which is cheaper for Berry accommodation?

Neither is always cheaper. Wotif is part of Expedia Group and Booking.com runs its free Genius programme, and both show member prices only when you sign in. Search the same property, dates and cancellation terms on both, compare the final total, then go through ShopBack to the cheaper one before you pay.

Is Luxury Escapes good for Berry and South Coast stays?

It can be, if you want a packaged stay with inclusions. Luxury Escapes shows a member price next to a non-member price on many offers and lists what each package includes. Compare the package total with booking the same nights and extras separately, and check the dates and cancellation terms of the offer.

Can a dearer booking site work out cheaper?

Yes, sometimes. A store that looks a little dearer can work out cheaper once ShopBack's money back is counted, because your effective price is what you pay minus the cash that comes back. Check the rate shown on each site's ShopBack page and compare effective prices, not only the checkout totals.

When are the NSW school holidays in 2027?

According to the NSW Department of Education, the 2027 holidays are autumn from Monday 12 April to Friday 23 April, winter from Monday 5 July to Friday 16 July, and spring from Monday 27 September to Friday 8 October. Summer 2027 to 2028 starts Tuesday 21 December 2027.
