Is MYER one Membership Worth It in Australia in 2026?
MYER one is free to join and earns 2 points per $1 at Myer, with 1,000 points turning into a $10 Reward, so it is worth it for almost anyone who shops at Myer. The tiers, the spend you need for Silver and Gold, what the perks are actually worth, and how ShopBack Australia lowers the price of the same Myer order.
Is MYER one Membership Worth It in Australia in 2026?
Updated: October 2026. By Ziling Liu, Personal Finance Editor, ShopBack.
MYER one membership is worth it for almost anyone who shops at Myer in Australia, because it is free to join and earns 2 points per $1, with every 1,000 points turning into a $10 Reward. That works out to about $10 in Rewards for every $500 spent at Myer. The tier perks only start at $750 of spend a year, so light shoppers mainly get the points. Whatever your tier, go through the ShopBack Myer page before you check out online.
ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you money back on online orders at thousands of stores, including Myer. You start from ShopBack, shop as normal, and part of what you pay comes back to your ShopBack account as cash. New members can join ShopBack Australia free before their next Myer order.
Is MYER one membership worth it?
Yes for most people, because it costs nothing and returns about $2 in Myer Rewards for every $100 spent at Myer. The real question is whether you spend enough to reach Silver or Gold, where the tier perks start.
| What MYER one gives you | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to join | Free | MYER one terms, clause 2.2 |
| Points earned at Myer | 2 points per $1 | MYER one page on myer.com.au |
| Points per Reward | 1,000 points for a $10 Reward | MYER one terms, clause 4.1 |
| Spend for a $10 Reward | About $500 | Worked out from the two figures above |
| Silver tier | $750 to $2,499.99 spend in a Membership Year | MYER one terms, clause 5.1 |
| Gold tier | $2,500 or more in a Membership Year | MYER one terms, clause 5.1 |
| Platinum tier | By invitation only | MYER one terms, clause 5.1 |
| Points expiry | Two years from issue if not converted | MYER one terms, clause 3.5 |
| Reward expiry | One year from issue | MYER one terms, clause 4.4 |
Who it suits best: anyone who buys gifts, beauty, homewares or electricals at Myer a few times a year. Even one $500 Christmas shop earns a $10 Reward.
Who gets less from it: people who shop at Myer once a year or less. Your points still count, but they expire two years after they are issued if you never reach 1,000, so small balances can lapse.
MYER one membership in Australia for 2026: how it works
MYER one is Myer's own loyalty programme, and in 2026 it runs on a Membership Year from 1 April to 31 March. Here is how it works, according to the MYER one terms and the MYER one page on myer.com.au.
- Join free in store, online or in the MYER one app. You need to be 16 or older, with a unique email address and an Australian address.
- Earn points by giving your MYER one card or number in store, or entering your number online before checkout. Points from online orders are usually processed once the order is ready for collection or dispatched.
- Choose how you redeem. With Fast Rewards, every 1,000 points turns into a $10 Reward the next day. With Points Banking, your points are saved until you choose to convert them all at once.
- Spend your Reward at a Myer Group retailer within one year.
Member Pooling lets family and friends share points in one pool so they reach a Reward faster, according to Myer. Tier benefits and birthday rewards stay with each member and are not pooled.
MYER one membership rewards and benefits: are they worth it?
The benefits get noticeably better at Silver ($750 a year) and Gold ($2,500 a year), so the programme is worth most to regular Myer shoppers. Here is what each tier gets per Membership Year, according to the MYER one terms:
| Benefit | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|
| MY Reward Days (double points on the day) | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| MY Edition box vouchers | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| Complimentary beauty treatment invitations | Listed in the terms as coming in 2026 | Each half year, generally April and October | Each quarter |
| Keys to the Store private shopping | No | No | Yes, by application |
How to value the perks. A MY Reward Day doubles the points on one shop, so that day's shop earns Rewards worth about 4 percent of the spend instead of 2 percent. Plan a big purchase, such as a TV or a winter coat, for the day you activate it. The MY Edition box and beauty treatment are product and service perks, so they are worth most if you would have bought those brands anyway.
Other benefits Myer lists for all members:
- Birthday and Anniversary Rewards, if you have spent at least $30 in the Membership Year, have been a member long enough and opt in to emails or SMS. A long running OzBargain listing describes the birthday reward as a $10 voucher.
- Complimentary standard and big and bulky delivery within metropolitan Australia is listed as a member benefit in the terms. Benefits vary by tier, so check yours in your account.
- In-store gift wrapping on purchases from Myer stores, up to 20 gifts per member per day.
- Exclusive offers and early sale access, listed on the MYER one page.
Myer's official membership programme benefits beyond the store
MYER one also earns and redeems away from Myer, which is where light Myer shoppers can still build up points. According to Myer:
- Card linked Earn Partners: link a Visa or Mastercard and earn at partners. At the time of writing, Myer lists DoorDash, Petbarn and LVLY at 2 points per $1, and Webjet, mycar Tyre and Auto, Sea Life, Legoland and other Merlin attractions at 1 point per $1, with these offers listed until 31 October 2026.
- Group brands: MY Reward Days apply at Myer, Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Dotti, Portmans and Jacqui E.
- JD Sports: you can choose to redeem 1,000 points for a $6 Reward at JD Sports. That is worth less than the $10 Myer Reward, so it suits people who shop at JD Sports more than Myer.
- Pay with points: Myer accepts points from CommBank, Velocity and American Express in store and online.
Spend at partners and points transfers do not count towards your tier, according to the MYER one terms. Only Myer Group spend moves you up to Silver or Gold.
Myer official membership terms you should know (site:myer.com.au)
The full rules are in the MYER one terms and conditions on myer.com.au. The ones most likely to affect what you get:
- Points expire two years from issue if not converted into Rewards.
- Rewards expire one year from issue, and any balance left is forfeited.
- Daily cap: the most Reward value Myer issues to one member in a day is $950, with the rest issued on later days.
- Returns: points from cancelled, refunded or reversed purchases can be taken back.
- Personal shopping only: points cannot be earned on commercial quantities.
Myer's returns policy is worth knowing when you shop for points. Change of mind refunds are offered on most items within 30 days of purchase, extended to the end of January for items bought in November or December, according to Myer.
Myer and ShopBack in 2026
For merchants like Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, going through ShopBack is an essential step before you book or check out, so you pay less on the same booking or order, and Myer works the same way. ShopBack works like an automatic cash discount on your online order.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. That is the difference from MYER one: your MYER one Reward can only be spent at Myer Group stores within a year, while the money back from ShopBack Australia is cash in your ShopBack account.
How to do it on a Myer order:
- Clear your Myer cart, then open the ShopBack Myer page in the ShopBack Australia app or on the website.
- Check the rate shown and the Terms, then tap through to the Myer website.
- Enter your MYER one number at checkout so you still earn points.
- Pay in the same visit. If payment fails, restart from the ShopBack Myer page.
Check the Terms first. At the time of writing, the Terms on the ShopBack Myer page list these as not eligible: Myer app purchases; use of Myer loyalty, member or staff discounts; gift card or voucher redemptions; payments with the Myer Returns Card, CommBank Award points, Velocity points or American Express reward points; items from CHANEL, Dior, Aesop and Hermès Beauty; and fees, taxes and delivery. A note on that page also says that using any promo, coupon or discount code not featured on ShopBack can make the whole order ineligible. So shop on the Myer website, not the app, and check the Terms before using a Reward or a member discount on the same order.
Worked example (illustrative). On a $500 Myer order at an illustrative 2 percent, $10 comes back, so the effective price is $490, and you still earn 1,000 MYER one points for a $10 Reward. Check the live rate on the ShopBack Myer page.
The category in one line: Australians comparing department stores and big online shops usually also look at David Jones, THE ICONIC, Amazon, Temu and AliExpress, each with its own ShopBack page, rate and Terms where available.
