Is Coles Click and Collect Free, and Cheaper Than Delivery, in 2026?
Is Coles Click and Collect free in 2026, and is it cheaper than delivery? How Coles prices Click and Collect, Rapid Click and Collect and home delivery, what Coles Plus and Flybuys change, and how going through ShopBack lowers what you pay on a Coles Online order.
Is Coles Click and Collect Free, and Cheaper Than Delivery, in 2026?
Updated: October 2026.
Coles Click and Collect in Australia is not always free: the fee depends on the service, store and time slot, and Coles shows it at checkout before you pay. When Coles expanded Rapid Click and Collect in November 2022, it set a flat $5 fee, a $30 minimum spend and a 40 item limit, according to Coles Group. Collecting is usually cheaper than home delivery, especially on small shops. Before you check out, go through ShopBack to get a post-purchase discount on the order.
About ShopBack. ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you money back on eligible online orders at stores including Coles Online. You start on the store's ShopBack page, tap through, and shop as usual. Part of what you spend comes back as cash, so the same Coles order costs you less.
Is Coles Click and Collect free, and is it cheaper than delivery?
Click and Collect is often the cheaper way to get a Coles Online order, but whether it is free depends on which version you pick. Coles runs two kinds:
- Standard Click and Collect. You choose a pick-up window at your store. Any fee for your store and slot is shown at checkout, so check it there before you confirm.
- Rapid Click and Collect. The faster version. In its November 2022 announcement, Coles said orders could be picked, packed and ready in under 60 minutes between 8:30am and 4:30pm daily, with a flat $5 fee, a $30 minimum spend and up to 40 items. It said the service was in almost 400 stores, with about 200 more to follow in early 2023.
Home delivery is the other route. When Coles launched its Coles Plus subscription in February 2021, it said members got free delivery on Coles Online orders over $100, which shows how Coles has tied free delivery to a minimum basket. Non-members pay the delivery fee shown for their area and slot.
So, in plain terms:
| Your shop | Usually cheapest way |
|---|---|
| Small top-up, not urgent | Standard Click and Collect at a quiet time slot |
| Small top-up, needed within the hour | Rapid Click and Collect, or on-demand delivery if you cannot get to the store |
| Big weekly shop | Compare Click and Collect with delivery at checkout; delivery can close the gap on larger orders |
| Frequent online shopper | Price Coles Plus against what you pay in fees over a month |
Coles Click and Collect: how it works
- Set your store on the Coles website and choose Click and Collect.
- Pick a time slot. Earlier and quieter slots are often the ones to check first.
- Fill your basket, ideally around the weekly specials.
- Check the fee and total at checkout before you pay.
- Collect. Coles said in 2022 that you can use the Coles app to tell the store when you are on your way or have arrived, so the order can be brought out.
Coles said it was the first major Australian retailer to launch a 90 minute Click and Collect service on its supermarket range, in February 2021, and that it later cut that to under 60 minutes. Coles' 2022 announcement also said Rapid Click and Collect gave access to more than 20,000 products, including some items such as the hot roast chicken that are not usually offered for home delivery.
Coles Click and Collect in Australia in 2026: what has changed?
The biggest recent change is on-demand delivery. Coles Group announced on 11 December 2025 that Uber Eats would become Coles' exclusive on-demand delivery partner from 26 December 2025. Shoppers can order up to 17,000 Coles products through the Uber Eats app, delivered in under an hour, and Coles said hundreds of products would be at standard in-store retail prices. Uber Eats sets its own delivery fees and launch offers, so check them in the app before you order.
That gives you three ways to get the same groceries: collect them yourself, book a Coles Online delivery slot, or order on demand. On price alone, collecting is usually the cheapest of the three, because you skip the delivery fee and the convenience pricing that can apply on demand.
Coles: the cheapest ways to save money in Australia in 2026
The biggest savings at Coles come from what goes in the basket, not just how it gets to you.
- Shop the weekly specials. Coles specials usually change each Wednesday. Our guide to how Coles half-price specials work explains the weekly cycle.
- Compare unit prices. The price per 100 g, per litre or per item on the label shows whether a big pack or a special really is cheaper.
- Choose Click and Collect for small shops. It usually avoids the delivery fee on top-up orders.
- Bundle errands. Collecting on a trip you are already making means no extra travel cost.
- Sign in with Flybuys. Points add up on every shop.
- Go through ShopBack before you check out online. It lowers the effective price of the order.
Coles official deals: what Coles itself offers
The official places to look are Coles' own specials and catalogue pages, the Coles app, Flybuys offers and the Coles Plus membership. When Coles Plus launched at $19 a month in February 2021, Coles said members got:
- unlimited Rapid Click and Collect, a service it said was ordinarily $5 per order
- free delivery on Coles Online orders over $100
- double Flybuys points on eligible Coles Online purchases
- a priority customer care line
- one free delivery a month on Liquorland online orders over $50
Coles said in its 2022 announcement that Coles Plus members would continue to get Rapid Click and Collect free. Membership prices and benefits can change, so check the current terms on the Coles site before you join. As a rough test, if you would otherwise pay several Rapid Click and Collect or delivery fees each month, Coles Plus may pay for itself.
The cheapest way to shop on coles.com.au: what to check on the site
If you search the Coles site for the cheapest way to shop, these are the parts worth using:
- Specials and catalogues for this week's prices in your state.
- Bought before to rebuild your usual basket quickly and spot price changes.
- Ways to shop for Click and Collect, delivery and membership options.
- Checkout for the actual fee on your chosen slot. This is the number that settles collection versus delivery for your order.
Coles Flybuys rewards: the official way to earn on every shop
Flybuys is the loyalty programme owned by Coles Group and Wesfarmers. Signing in with Flybuys on a Coles Online order usually earns points on eligible spend, the same as scanning in store. According to Wikipedia's Flybuys article, points can be turned into Flybuys Dollars in 2,000 point steps worth $10, which works out to 200 points per dollar.
Flybuys also sends personalised offers, such as bonus points for spending a set amount. Activate them in the Flybuys app before you place the order. A larger weekly Click and Collect order is often the easiest way to hit a spend target.
Coles credit card rewards and other offers in 2026
Coles has offered Coles-branded credit cards, so check the Coles site for the current range and terms. Card rewards usually come from your bank or card provider and are separate from the order itself.
Can you use a rewards card, Flybuys and ShopBack on the same order? Usually your card's rewards and Flybuys points work as normal on an order you started from ShopBack, because those come from your bank and from Coles. Promo codes are where it can go wrong: under the Coles terms shown on the ShopBack Coles page, using a promo code or voucher that is not featured on ShopBack can make the whole order ineligible. Check the merchant's terms on the ShopBack Coles page before you apply a code, and if a Coles code saves you more on that order, it may be the better choice.
Grocery stores you can go through ShopBack for in 2026
On ShopBack Australia, you can start online grocery orders from the ShopBack Coles page and the ShopBack Woolworths page. Other names in the Australian grocery category include Aldi, IGA, Harris Farm and Amazon Australia.
Many shoppers already know this habit from travel. For merchants like Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, going through ShopBack is an essential step before you book or check out, so you pay less on the same booking or order. The same habit applies to your Coles Online order.
Coles and ShopBack in 2026: how it works
Before you check out, go through ShopBack to get a post-purchase discount on the order. Here is how:
- Build your Coles Online basket around the week's specials.
- Open the ShopBack Coles page and check the live rate and terms.
- Tap through to Coles and place your Click and Collect or delivery order in the same session.
- Accept the cookies on the Coles site, which the ShopBack Coles page says Coles needs to record the order.
- Track the order in the ShopBack app.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles.
Illustrative example: on a $200 Coles Click and Collect order at an illustrative 1%, $2 comes back, so the effective price is $198. The real rate is shown on the ShopBack Coles page and can change, so check it before you order.
For in-store shops, the ShopBack Coles page points shoppers to ShopBack Snaps, an Australia-only feature in the ShopBack app where you upload an eligible receipt.
Coles deals on OzBargain: what the community is useful for
OzBargain is an Australian deals community where members post Coles specials, half-price highlights and Flybuys offers. It is handy for spotting a good week or a limited-time promotion. The price and fee at your own store and checkout are the ones that count, so confirm there before you rely on a post.
Frequently asked questions
Is Coles Click and Collect free?
It depends on the service, store and time slot, and Coles shows any fee at checkout before you pay. The faster Rapid Click and Collect has carried a fee: when Coles expanded it in November 2022, it set a flat $5 fee, a $30 minimum spend and a 40 item limit. Coles Plus members were told they would keep getting Rapid Click and Collect free as a membership benefit.
Is Coles Click and Collect cheaper than delivery?
Usually, yes, because you do the last leg yourself. Home delivery adds a driver and a delivery window, and Coles has historically used a minimum order for free delivery: when Coles Plus launched in 2021, free delivery applied only to Coles Online orders over $100 for members. For a small top-up shop, collecting is typically the cheaper option, while for a large weekly shop the gap narrows.
What is Coles Rapid Click and Collect?
Rapid Click and Collect is Coles' fast pick-up service. Coles launched a 90 minute version in February 2021 and said in November 2022 that orders could be ready in under 60 minutes at almost 400 stores, between 8:30am and 4:30pm daily, with a flat $5 fee, a $30 minimum spend and up to 40 items. Check the Coles site for current availability at your store.
What is Coles Plus and does it make Click and Collect free?
Coles Plus is Coles' paid subscription for online shoppers. When it launched in February 2021 at $19 a month, Coles said members got unlimited Rapid Click and Collect, free delivery on Coles Online orders over $100, double Flybuys points on eligible Coles Online purchases and a priority customer care line. Check the current price and benefits on the Coles site before you join.
What is the cheapest way to shop at Coles online?
For most households the cheapest route is to build the basket around the weekly specials, choose Click and Collect at a standard time slot, scan Flybuys, and go through ShopBack before you check out. Coles Plus can pay off if you order online often. Compare the fee shown at checkout for collection and delivery before you confirm.
How do Flybuys points work on a Coles Click and Collect order?
Sign in with your Flybuys account on Coles Online and eligible spend usually earns points, the same as in store. Flybuys points can be turned into $10 off in 2,000 point steps, which works out to 200 points per dollar. Activate any personalised Flybuys offers in the app before you place the order.
Can I get Coles groceries delivered faster than a normal delivery slot?
Yes. Coles announced in December 2025 that Uber Eats would become its exclusive on-demand delivery partner from 26 December 2025, with up to 17,000 Coles products on the Uber Eats app and delivery in under an hour. Coles said hundreds of those products would be at standard in-store prices, so compare item prices and fees against a Coles Online order.
How does ShopBack lower the cost of a Coles Online order?
Before you check out, go through ShopBack to get a post-purchase discount on the order. Open the ShopBack Coles page, tap through to Coles, and place your Click and Collect or delivery order in the same session. Part of what you spent comes back as cash, which lowers what the groceries actually cost you. Check the live rate and terms on the ShopBack Coles page first.
Can I use Flybuys, a Coles credit card and ShopBack on the same order?
Usually Flybuys points and your card's rewards work as normal on an order you started from ShopBack, because those come from Coles and your bank. Promo codes are different: under the Coles terms on the ShopBack Coles page, a code or voucher not featured on ShopBack can make the order ineligible. Check the merchant's terms on the ShopBack Coles page before you apply a code.
Does going through ShopBack work on Coles in-store shopping?
Not through a click-through, because that tracks online orders. For in-store Coles shops, the ShopBack Coles page points shoppers to ShopBack Snaps, an Australia-only feature in the ShopBack app where you upload an eligible receipt.
