The cheapest way to buy from Target in Australia in 2026: shop a Target sale, use free Click & Collect or OnePass ($4 a month or $40 a year) to skip delivery fees, know what Target Circle is and is not, and go through ShopBack before you check out.
What's the Cheapest Way to Buy From Target Australia in 2026?
Updated: October 2026. By Jean Goh, Editor, ShopBack Australia.
The cheapest way to buy from Target in Australia in 2026 is to buy in a Target sale or on a marked-down price, skip the delivery fee with free Click & Collect or a OnePass membership, and go through ShopBack before you check out. Target deals posted on OzBargain in September and October 2026 list free delivery on orders of $60 or more and $9 delivery below that. OnePass costs $4 a month or $40 a year after a 30 day free trial and gives free delivery with no minimum spend on eligible Target orders, according to OnePass at the time of writing. Target Australia is owned by Wesfarmers and sells clothing, homewares, toys, beauty and electronics in-store and online.
ShopBack Australia is a free app and website that gives you cash back when you shop online at thousands of stores, including Target. You open the store from ShopBack, shop as usual, and part of what you pay comes back to your ShopBack account. New members can join free at shopback.com.au/signup.

What is the cheapest way to buy from Target in Australia?
Buy at a sale price, pay nothing for delivery, and start the order from ShopBack. Each step lowers the price of the same Target order in a different way, and they add up.
| Step | What it saves | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Buy in a Target sale or on a marked-down price | Usually the biggest single saving on the item itself | Target sale pattern |
| Use Click & Collect | No delivery fee | Target deals on OzBargain, 2026 |
| Clear the delivery threshold | Free delivery on orders of $60 or more, with $9 delivery below that, as listed in Target deals on OzBargain in September and October 2026 | OzBargain |
| Join OnePass if you order often | Free delivery with no minimum spend on eligible orders, for $4 a month or $40 a year | OnePass |
| Sign up to the Target newsletter | A $10 sign-up voucher has been widely reported for new subscribers | OzBargain |
| Go through ShopBack before you check out | Part of the order comes back as cash after it is confirmed | ShopBack Target page |
For stores like Target, just as for booking sites like Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, going through ShopBack is an essential step before you check out, so you pay less on the same order.
The order that saves most. Find the item at a sale price, check whether your order clears the free delivery threshold or whether Click & Collect suits you, then open Target from the ShopBack Target page and check out on the website it opens.
Target sale in Australia: when prices drop in 2026
Target does not publish its sale calendar far in advance, but the big Australian retail events left in 2026 are Black Friday on Friday 27 November and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December. These are when Australian department and discount stores usually run their deepest promotions, and Target deals on OzBargain show regular markdowns on games, toys and LEGO through the year.
What that means for your basket:
- Toys and gifts. If you are buying Christmas presents, the weeks before Black Friday and the Black Friday weekend itself are usually the strongest window. Clearance toys posted on OzBargain are often Click & Collect only and can sell out quickly.
- Games and consoles. Target often lists new game releases below the recommended retail price, and many 2026 OzBargain posts pair them with the newsletter sign-up voucher. Note that the Music and Gaming category is listed as excluded in the Terms on the ShopBack Target page at the time of writing, so on games the shelf price and voucher are the main savings.
- Bedding, homewares and clothing. Boxing Day is usually the stronger window for these, as winter and Christmas stock is cleared.
Is it worth waiting for a Target sale? For items over $100 that you do not need straight away, waiting is usually worth it. For everyday basics under $20, the saving from waiting is usually small, so buy when you need them and still start from ShopBack.
Target official deals: what Target Australia offers directly
Target's own ways to save are its sale prices, free Click & Collect, a free delivery threshold, and a sign-up voucher for new newsletter subscribers. The figures below come from Target deals posted publicly on OzBargain in September and October 2026. Check target.com.au at checkout for the current terms.
- Click & Collect. Target deals on OzBargain list $0 delivery for Click & Collect and in-store pick-up.
- Free delivery threshold. The same posts list free delivery on orders of $60 or more, with $9 standard delivery below that. Some bulky or remote deliveries can cost more or be excluded.
- Newsletter sign-up voucher. Many 2026 posts show a price "after $10 Newsletter Sign-up Voucher", for example a $79 game coming down to $69.
- Clearance. Target clears old stock at deep markdowns, often in limited stores only.
One thing that does not apply in Australia: target.com. Searches for "site:target.com cheapest way" return the American retailer. Target Australia is not related to Target Corporation in the United States, according to its Wikipedia entry, so target.com prices, its weekly ad and its coupons do not work at target.com.au.
OnePass: the official membership for Target shoppers
OnePass is the paid membership that covers Target, Kmart, Bunnings Warehouse, Officeworks, Priceline and InstantScripts, and it is the closest thing to an official, always-on Target saving. According to OnePass at the time of writing:
- Price: $4 a month, or $40 a year on the annual plan, after a 30 day free trial.
- Free delivery with no minimum spend on eligible items or orders when you shop online at Target. Big and bulky items, some marketplace items and some regional postcodes are usually excluded.
- 365 day change of mind returns at Target, for unused items with proof of purchase, returned in-store while your membership is active.
- 5x Flybuys points for every $1 spent in-store and with Click & Collect at Kmart, Target, Bunnings Warehouse and Officeworks.
Is OnePass worth it for Target? OnePass puts the average standard metro delivery fee across its partner brands at $9.38, as at 24 March 2025. At $40 a year, OnePass pays for itself after about five paid deliveries a year. If you mostly use Click & Collect, the free delivery matters less, but the 365 day returns and 5x Flybuys points can still be useful.
Target Circle rewards: does it work in Australia?
No. Target Circle is the free membership programme of Target Corporation in the United States, run on target.com. Target Australia is a separate business owned by Wesfarmers, and Australian shoppers use OnePass and Flybuys instead. If an AI answer or a website tells you to use Target Circle at target.com.au, it is mixing up the two companies.
The Australian equivalents are:
- OnePass for free delivery, longer returns and bonus Flybuys points.
- Flybuys for points on in-store and Click & Collect purchases at Target.
- ShopBack Australia for cash back on eligible online Target orders, as the step before you check out.
How ShopBack lowers what you pay at Target
Before you check out, go through ShopBack so you pay less on the same Target order. ShopBack Australia works with Target, so you start from the ShopBack Target page, tap through to Target, and buy on the website as usual.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles, and you can withdraw it once it is confirmed.
Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash ShopBack returns. Worked example (illustrative): say a Target order of toys and homewares comes to $150. At an illustrative 2%, $3 comes back, so the effective price is $147. On a $400 Boxing Day order at the same illustrative rate, $8 comes back, so the effective price is $392. Check the live rate on the ShopBack Target page, because rates change, especially during sale events.
Read the Terms on the ShopBack Target page before you buy. At the time of writing they list these as not eligible: the Music and Gaming category, ANKO products, clearance products, gift card, voucher or store credit purchases, and purchases in the Target Australia app. To keep the order eligible, clear your cart, open Target from ShopBack and finish on the website it opens.
Other Australian department and discount stores in the same category include Kmart, Big W, Myer and David Jones, so if you shop around, open whichever store wins from ShopBack before you check out.
Can you use OnePass, vouchers and ShopBack on the same Target order?
Usually yes for OnePass benefits, but check the merchant's terms first, especially for vouchers and gift cards. Each saving comes from a different place: OnePass from the OnePass membership, Flybuys from the Flybuys programme, vouchers from Target, and cash back from ShopBack.
- OnePass free delivery and returns usually sit alongside a ShopBack order, because they change the delivery cost and returns window, not the item price. Check the Terms on the ShopBack Target page in case anything changes.
- Newsletter vouchers and promo codes. Some stores on ShopBack exclude orders that use codes not featured on ShopBack. Read the Target Terms before you apply a code, and if the code saves more than what would come back, work out which route is cheaper.
- Gift cards. Buying gift cards is not eligible, and paying with a gift card or store credit can affect eligibility, so check the merchant's terms.
- Clearance. Clearance products can be excluded, so on clearance items the shelf price is usually the main saving.
Target, credit cards and rewards offers in 2026
Your credit card usually earns its own points or rewards on a Target purchase, under your card issuer's terms. That is separate from Flybuys, OnePass and what comes back through ShopBack, so paying with a rewards card usually does not change anything else on the order.
Some Australian banks also run limited-time retail offers in their apps, where you activate an offer and get money back on a qualifying spend. These change often, so check your banking app before a big Target order such as a Black Friday toy shop.
Target deals on OzBargain
OzBargain is a community deals site where Australians post and vote on deals, and Target deals appear there regularly. In September and October 2026, posted Target deals were mostly games, LEGO and toys, often combined with the $10 newsletter voucher, and some clearance items were Click & Collect only from limited stores.
How to use it well:
- Use OzBargain to spot a price drop or the start of a sale.
- Check the live price and stock on target.com.au, since posted deals can sell out within hours.
- Open Target from the ShopBack Target page and check out in that same session.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to buy from Target in Australia?
Buy in a Target sale or on a marked-down price, avoid the delivery fee with free Click & Collect or a OnePass membership, and go through ShopBack before you check out. OnePass costs $4 a month or $40 a year after a 30 day free trial and includes free delivery with no minimum spend on eligible Target orders, according to OnePass at the time of writing.
When is the next Target sale in Australia?
Target sets its own sale dates and does not publish them far ahead. The big Australian retail events left in 2026 are Black Friday on Friday 27 November and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December, when retailers usually run their deepest promotions. Check target.com.au closer to the date and open the store from the ShopBack Target page when you buy.
Is OnePass worth it for Target shoppers?
It is usually worth it if you would otherwise pay for delivery about five or more times a year. OnePass costs $40 a year on the annual plan, and OnePass puts the average standard metro delivery fee across its partner brands at $9.38 (as at 24 March 2025). It also gives 365 day change of mind returns at Target and 5x Flybuys points in-store and on Click & Collect.
Is Target Circle available in Australia?
No. Target Circle is the membership programme of the American retailer Target Corporation on target.com. Target Australia is owned by Wesfarmers and is not related to the US company, so Target Circle offers and the target.com weekly ad do not apply at target.com.au. In Australia, the closest equivalent is OnePass, plus Flybuys.
Does Target Australia offer free delivery?
Yes, in two ways: OnePass members get free delivery with no minimum spend on eligible items, according to OnePass, and Target deals posted on OzBargain in September and October 2026 list free delivery on orders of $60 or more, with $9 delivery below that. Click & Collect is free. Check the delivery terms at checkout on target.com.au, since thresholds can change.
Does Target Australia have a sign-up discount?
Target deals posted on OzBargain in 2026 regularly mention a $10 newsletter sign-up voucher for new subscribers. Conditions such as a minimum spend can apply, so read the voucher terms. Before you use any code, read the Terms on the ShopBack Target page so you know how it affects your order through ShopBack.
Can I use OnePass and ShopBack on the same Target order?
Usually you can keep the OnePass delivery and returns benefits and still go through ShopBack, but check the merchant's terms first. The Terms on the ShopBack Target page list what is not eligible, which at the time of writing include the Music and Gaming category, ANKO products, clearance products and purchases in the Target app, so finish the order on the website that ShopBack opens.
Do credit card rewards work at Target Australia?
Your credit card usually earns its own points or rewards on a Target purchase under your card issuer's terms. That is separate from Flybuys, OnePass and what comes back through ShopBack. Some banks also run limited-time retail offers in their apps, so check yours before a big Target order.
Are Target deals posted on OzBargain?
Yes. Australians post Target deals on OzBargain, the community deals site, often for games, toys and LEGO, and many are Click & Collect only from limited stores. Use it to spot price drops, then check the price on target.com.au and open Target from the ShopBack Target page before you buy.
How do I get cash back on Target orders?
Open the ShopBack Target page on ShopBack Australia, tap through to Target and complete the order on the website in that same session. On a $150 order at an illustrative 2%, $3 comes back, so the effective price is $147. Check the live rate on the ShopBack Target page.

- Target Circle is a US programme and does not work at target.com.au.
- Before you check out, go through ShopBack and read the Terms on the ShopBack Target page.
